Who is the most important mother According to the Bible?

Mary Mother of Jesus

When I think of Mother’s Day, I think of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. She was chosen to be the Mother of the Savior of the World! Wow!

That had to be very special for Mother’s Day for Mary even though she was very young! I can not begin to fathom, how Mary must have felt when the Angel Gabriel, announced she would be carrying, the savior of the world, can you, sweet friends?

In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth. Luke 1:26

To a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary. Luke 1:27

And he came to her and said, Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you! Luke 1:28

But she was greatly troubled at the saying and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. Luke 1:29

And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Luke 1:30

And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. Luke 1:31

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David. Luke 1:32

And he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom, there will be no end. Luke 1:33

And Mary said to the angel, How will this be since I am a virgin? Luke 1:34

And the angel answered her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. Luke 1:35

And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. Luke 1:36

For nothing will be impossible with God. Luke 1:37

Now, I know that no one can come close in comparison to Mary, Mother of Jesus, but in our eyes, our Mother is pretty awesome too.

Mothers deserve to be recognized and shown how important they are. Sadly, my Mama passed away on August 19, 2021. May 8, 2022, is my first Mother’s Day without her.

In all honesty, I knew Mother’s Day without her was going to be hard for me but nothing can ever prepare you for the loss of a parent.

I can only pray now that she knew how much I loved her, appreciated her, and hope she knew that I never took her love for me for granted.

My Mama didn’t have it easy raising my sister and me because my parents were divorced when I was around eight or so.

I love my Daddy dearly but in my younger years, he didn’t give my Mama the support she needed to raise us. I can remember my Mama doing a fast-food job cleaning a church on the side and little odds and ends just trying to supply our daily needs.

In my hometown jobs are scarce, especially without a good education but my Mama did the best she could. I know without a doubt she went to bed hungry many times, just so our bellies were full.

My Sister and I didn’t have the name-brand clothes most other kids had but we were provided for and loved. That’s what is most important. Her love reminds me of God’s love for you and me.

When Mother’s Day is hard

Like with most relationships once you reach a certain age “AND THINK YOU KNOW IT ALL,” my Mama and I didn’t always see eye to eye.

When I decided I wanted to marry my first husband that’s when our relationship severed for many years, unfortunately.

My Mama knew beforehand what kind of life I would live because she said God warned her through a dream exactly what would take place.

Needless to say, I didn’t listen and she was right. For almost fifteen years I lived in a very abusive situation and my relationship with my Mama went south.

Thankfully, our relationship was restored and I regret that it got to the point it was. All I can say is thank you God for Grace!

What are five ways Mother’s day is hard?

I have listed five below why Mother’s Day may not be a good memory. See if these speak to heart and soul. Maybe your mother has:

  1. Passed away and it brings up memories that make you both happy and sad.
  2. Hooked on drugs or alcohol and don’t view you as an important part of their life.
  3. Abandoned you and you have no idea who or where she is and you feel less than others.
  4. Gave you up for adoption so you could have a better life than the one you would now have.
  5. Decided abortion was your only option and now you live with the shame of that decision.

When Mother’s Day is hard remember you are not alone

God is always there for you no matter what! Whether the memories are sad, happy, emotional, regretful, or whatever the case may be.

I don’t know if your Mother’s Day is difficult but I have a Savior who knows all things and will hold you in the shelter of his loving arms. Just call on him and he will be there for you in whatever situation you need.

I’m gonna put myself on the chopping block. I have made way too many wrong decisions where my children are concerned. I have “messed up” royally! Trust me on that!

I only wanted my children to have a better life than I had and wanted to keep them from making the same mistakes I did.

My Son has been on the wrong path for quite some time now and I blame myself. If only I “did this’ or “done that” and not allowed “this” or “that” our Mother/Son relationship wouldn’t be where it is today.

I keep the “Prodigal Son” story close, in my mind and heart! There is Hope!

What should you do When Mother’s Day is Hard?

Being a Mom is a huge responsibility. I have found out the hard way sometimes you have to allow your kids to make the wrong decisions so they will learn to make the right ones. You can’t enable them when you know it’s wrong to do so because it makes the situation worse.

I would give anything to be able to go back and have a “do-over” but life doesn’t work that way, does it? We can only do the best we know how and continue moving forward.

Will we mess up? Yes!

Can we receive grace and forgiveness? Yes!

It is never too late, to make amends, with those you love.

When Mother’s Day is hard due to the loss of a child

Sweet friends, losing a child is something my family has personally experienced. I would never want anyone to have to go through this kind of heartbreaking loss. Tyler is our first grandchild we lost to SIDS at 4 1/2 months old.

That being said, as hard as a loss of a child is for my entire family, I can’t begin to imagine the conflicting emotions, my daughter still goes through on Mother’s Day and every day in all honesty.

Yes, she has another child but you never get over the loss of a baby, you just learn how to cope with it. My prayer for you is if you are coping with the loss of your child this Mother’s Day turn to Jesus to comfort you because he’s the only one who can.

Relationships take work, whether that’s husband and wife, brother and sister, or mother and child. We must be willing to work at it to make it healthy.

I know many cases where too much is in the way to reconcile in our own eyes and may feel like we’ve lost hope. But with God all things are possible! Don’t doubt, instead, have faith in God.

We can trust God wholeheartedly and place our hope in Him for all things. Don’t take “Angie’s” words alone for this. Read God’s word on what does the bible say about hope?

Happy Mother’s Day to all and I Pray yours was a Blessed and Happy one!

A Mother’s Day prayer for You

Father God, you alone know every single moment in our lives. You alone, also know every individual who is without their mother on this Mother’s Day. I pray that you will bring comfort that only you can offer. May all rest and cling to you for strength and hope. Amen.
