In my opinion, God is the answer to ANY problem, challenge, or greatest need that comes our way. You and I can choose to place our hope in personal freedom, money, or sex, thinking any of these will truly satisfy us.

It’s a true assumption these tangible things may satisfy us for a little while, but they will always fall miserably short and lack in comparison to the hope found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

How Can You Explain Hope?

When we follow the truths in God’s word on what does the bible say about hope, we can’t go wrong right?

Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to circumstances in one’s life or the world at large.

How Does the World View Hope?

The world sees hope as things they would like for personal gain. To put it another way, the worldly view of hope is describing feelings about things desired or perhaps wanted. It can also be referenced as wishful thinking.

If you’re viewing hope in this way, “seeing things will eventually become better,” or “one day I will receive what I truly want,” is it any wonder the world lives in such a state of hopelessness?

What is a Christian’s View of Hope?

For born-again believers, our view on hope is centered on Jesus Christ, the author, and the finisher of our faith. I love the following quote.

“Mountains when in darkness hidden, are as real as in the day, and God’s love is as true to you now as it was in your brightest moments.” Hope in Christ is never-failing unlike like “world’s.”

  3. I love this post Angie! I have learned through the years that I need to put all the weight of my hope onto Jesus alone. I was putting it into people and circumstances that could be touched by just changes in life or the enemy himself. My hope is now solidly on the person of Jesus Himself. I wish I had done that sooner in life and saved myself so much heartache, disappointment and dashed dreams that were my dreams and not God’s dreams (or His best) for me. Thank you for encouraging my heart today… ❤
