Relax, How God is in Control

Why do we need to Remember to RELAX GOD IS IN CONTROL?

Sweet friends, I want to be completely transparent. I find that I’m struggling to believe this completely at times with my mind, heart, and soul. It can be so difficult to say I trust completely God because you’re in control.

However, this being said, when you don’t see your circumstances changing doubts can come rushing in no matter how much you try to push them away. Let me give you a rundown on not relaxing although I know to relax God is in control.

My ears have been bothering me more so than usual lately and the last three weeks my left ear which is the worst between the two has been giving me a fit and it’s been keeping me from sleeping.

My left ear is the one I’ve had about eight injections due to Meniere’s and Vestibular issues. I have constant pressure, ringing, and roaring, that never goes away, and the doctors will say after a while I won’t even notice it.

This is an ongoing issue since 2010 and it can get the best of me at times.

What does god say about control?

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

When we release our control to God only good things will come to us. Even when something seems ongoing, it will come together for our good and God’s glory. This is biblical and I know this. However, being human and flawed I fall short much too often.

Do not worry, Relax God is in control

First and foremost the Bible states numerous times “Be still and know that I am God” which helps to remind us the most to Relax God is in control.

Worrying can also lead born again believers of Jesus Christ on the path of unshaken faith in the unchanging God. God can turn all of our obstacles into miracles and pains into gains.

Not only this but our struggles can also lead non-Christians to God through Christ Jesus. For this reason in and of itself should remind us to Relax God is in Control

When life is hard and God seems distant what do you do?

For a while now I’ve been having pain that I’ve never felt before and it feels like I’m being stabbed repeatedly over and over.

It isn’t constant thank God but it brings me to tears which are rare for me because I have a very high pain tolerance.

I had one of my PAs where I work to see how it looked and they suggested that I should see my ENT Specialist. I made an appointment with my PCP instead because I figured I would just need antibiotics and didn’t want to drive an hour away.

I’m already having this issue with my ears and if you know anything about me you are aware I have major allergies and animals our one of many things that affect me. So let me state the obvious that a zoo is full of animals.

Consequently, I am also allergic to grass, trees, and pollen. Yep, those things surround a zoo also. By the time we got halfway through the zoo, I started sneezing my head off and I was struggling to breathe.

Underneath my eyes were black and looked like my bags had bags on top of each other and it wasn’t pretty. Trust me, I have pictures as proof and No I’m not sharing them. Lol

WHAT’S MY DILEMMA? Relax God is in Control, Right?

See the thing is I didn’t want to let my family down especially when they’re having so much fun and I didn’t want to be Debbie downer and ask if we could leave.

In all honesty, I feel like I’m keeping my family from enjoying the activities they love already. I do not want to do that!

God is in control of everything

What do you do when you have more questions than answers? I know to rest in the fact “Relax God is in Control” but sometimes I question God such as…

  1. Why does it have to be this way, God?
  2. Why can’t this be different, God?
  3. Will I ever get to enjoy life the way I use to, Lord?
  4. Why can’t you take it away, Lord?
  5. What are you trying to teach me, God?
  6. Haven’t I learned all you want me to by now?

We’re not promised an easy life

We must stand firm knowing the Christian life doesn’t automatically mean life will be easy. God’s word has never promised us we would have an easy life when we choose to follow Him.

However, God does promise that He will be with us through it all.

Trust me, if you give Satan an inch he will take a mile and Satan being the deceiver will flood my mind with doubts and all kinds of false truths.

Lies of the devil can totally leave us feeling defeated if we’re not careful sweet friends.

Satan loves and knows how to Prey on our vulnerabilities. Most of the time my reply is, I’m doing Ok or I’m alright and I try to be a positive person regardless of my circumstances.

I don’t want to feel like I’m complaining when I know for a fact I could be having it much worse than I do.

My Church likes us to arrive thirty minutes prior to worship service so we can engage with our fellow brothers and sisters and they also like for us to find someone we may not recognize and have them sit with us.

It’s all about extending the same Love, that Jesus Christ has shown us.

However, I don’t want to go at that time and want to arrive just a couple of minutes prior so that way I don’t have to discuss “How I am doing!”  I know they mean well it’s just easier to dodge it altogether.

Even during service this weekend a dear Sister and Friend asked me point-blank, “How are you doing?” I looked them in the eye and replied I’m doing Ok.

I think they saw right through that response but they didn’t question me. This is so NOT the right attitude when I should be saying God is in control of the situation.

How to relax and remember God is in control

If I can’t be honest with my fellow brothers and sisters, that’s a huge problem. We’re supposed to lift up and encourage one another but instead, I hide behind the facade that all is well with me instead of sharing how difficult it can be for me.

But don’t you just love God’s timing? It’s never late and exactly when we need it the most. My pastor did a sermon Sunday that regardless of our circumstances God is sovereign and he’s in control of all things.

Nothing in our lives catches him off guard nor does it surprise him for God sees the beginning, middle, and the end and knows how we will react.

Remember Eternity is our Home

God allows things to come into our lives to mold and form us into the likeness of his son. We may not understand, agree, or like it necessarily but he’s using these things for a reason.

While we are in seasons of difficulty how we handle them can change those around us by watching how we react to the circumstances.

Sadly, most often we run to other things and other people for encouragement instead of running to God! Many times God will not change our circumstances so we are forced to change and we won’t move until God makes us move.

I must agree with that because it’s in those hardest of times I’ve grown the most and I want to be able to say no matter my circumstance is that it is well with me!

When I start to feel down and discouraged I need to remind myself of the truth that God is in control.

Read the Bible

What little I go through, is nothing in comparison, to what Jesus Christ endured for me! The Apostle Paul suffered tremendously, but he kept the faith knowing he would receive Heaven as his prize!

You know Job’s story of loss and great pain but it was for his good and God’s glory!

So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

Keep it real

Don’t be afraid to voice what you’re truly feeling. Don’t say I’m fine and I’m alright line when this isn’t true. Be open and honest. Show vulnerability by being real.

We can trust God wholeheartedly and place our hope in Him for all things. Don’t take “Angie’s” word alone for this. Read God’s word on what does the bible say about hope?

In Closing on Relax God is in control

First and foremost, run to your Heavenly Father and share with him how you feel because he already knows anyway but God longs for us to speak with him.

Secondly, don’t be afraid to share with your fellow brothers and sisters and be honest that you’re struggling and need their help and to lift you up and Pray for you.

I will Pray for you and you can Pray for me too because that’s why I have this blog and I want to be real, even when it’s hard, even when it hurts, and even if it shows I am far from perfect. That’s being real.

Father God, Please help us to see, that we need to rely on one another when we’re feeling weak and weary. Help us know that it’s ok to admit when we need help, instead of trying to carry that burden alone. Help us to Relax, God is in Control! In Jesus Name.

much love, your sister in Christ, Angie
