The reason For the season is the birth of Jesus

Sweet friend, Christmas is not about the gifts you can or can not afford to purchase. Christmas is about the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus is the reason for the season.

That being said I have a confession that weighs heavily on my mind at times. I consider my blog a gift given by God to share the good news and to encourage others in their daily walk with Jesus.

However, there are times when my “gift” consumes my thoughts that I didn’t do this correctly, messed something up, or I must get this done and the list goes on and on! See, I want to do my best and Honor God to the best of my ability with the gift I’ve been given.

The Reason I Have a Blog

I never want to be consumed with the gift God has entrusted me with. To put it another way, the attention I give to my blog should not be my first priority. Why?

Spending time with my Savior must take the highest priority first and foremost. My intentions good as they may be can NOT get in the way of my relationship with God.

Priceless Gift of the Season The Birth of Jesus

Anything we can EVER receive on this earth does NOT come close in comparison to the greatest gift ever given to us and doesn’t cost us anything. That gift is the birth of Jesus you and I nothing.

It is a gift given freely to us by the birth of Jesus Christ. When Christmas draws near we can get so consumed with our version of the “Perfect Christmas” that we can push aside what it is truly about…The Birth of Jesus.

what are the High Demands for the Season?

Why do we put such demands on ourselves when we know the true reason for the season? The “things” in our lives do not need to be “perfect” nor will they ever be.

What we need to remember is the “perfect” way God chose to make himself known to us and that is through his only begotten son…Jesus.

Now, you and I may say we know the reason for the season but is this a true statement? Are the following things your focus during the season?

  1. A tree for our home
  2. Dinner for our Family
  3. Family Portrait to send
  4. Outdoor Decorations outside our house
  5. Indoor Decorations inside our home
  6. Gifts for our Children and Grandchildren
  7. Party for our Friends and Coworkers
  8. A vacation that you want to give your Family
  9. Cards to send to your Loved Ones
  10. Attitude to extend to others

what is a Convicting reason for the Season?

Now, this list is not me criticizing anyone for anything. However, I am guilty of these being my focus and priority during Christmas. Oh, I hope I’m not the only one, am I?

This being said however you can get so wrapped up in wanting this list to be “perfect” that can become so distracted and forget the most important thing. The only “perfect” thing!

Remember The real for the season The birth of Jesus

The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means “God with us”. Matthew 1:23

God is with us through Jesus Christ. Jesus humbled himself as a servant so you and I could be reconciled with God.

I can NOT think of a greater gift that we can receive, can you?

Sadly, you and I do NOT deserve the gift of Jesus but it’s given to us freely nonetheless. I am so grateful for that, aren’t you?

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

We must keep the true meaning of Christmas, in our hearts, and always at the forefront of our minds. It’s NOT in the hurrying and the scurrying to get more done, and it is NOT found in purchasing gifts we have all we need to be complete in Christ as the ultimate gift which is the birth of Jesus!
