We ALL say “Let them see Jesus in me,” but do we really reflect that to those around us Friends?
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16
“Let Them See Jesus in Me“: Is the way you’re living your life a reflection of the way Jesus Christ lived his?
Speaking of myself I know that I do NOT come close to showing the humility Jesus did. Do you feel the same way? If Jesus were to return at this very moment would you be ashamed of what you are doing currently? If your answer is Yes I suggest you make the choice to do things differently.
I look at it like this. If it’s something you wouldn’t want God to see you do then it’s best to set it aside. I know for a fact that I am guilty. We are God’s children and he uses us as his instrument to share the gospel with others. We truly need to pray and ask God for his knowledge and wisdom when it comes to living out our faith before others. Most often we are the ONLY Bible they see.
Are you being a good representation of letting others see Jesus in You?
Friends if we profess to the world “I AM A CHRISTIAN,” the Christian life is a changed life. You can NOT profess to be a Christian and live the same as you did before Salvation! Becoming a Christian means turning from your sin and turning towards God. It is NOT saying to God “I Repent Forgive Me” and then go back to the same lifestyle. If you want to live out the phrase Let Them See Jesus in Me, we have got to take steps towards being Jesus. Now I am by no means stating that since you are now saved by faith you will live a spotless life.
It’s just NOT possible In our Christian walk to be sinless but you WILL want to SinLess!
It is a continual sanctification process but if your heart has truly been changed you’ll want to change how you are living after Salvation.
God changes your life entirely at the moment of your salvation.
You will want to do things that are pleasing to God and share His goodness to ALL you come in contact with and be more conformed to Jesus and less conformed to the world.
Bible Verses To Live the Life of “Let Them See Jesus in Me”
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18
But that is not the way you learned Christ, assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life, and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:20-24
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
Let them see (Jesus Christ) in you. He’s given us a guideline to use…..His Holy Word
I’ve listed some things I thought would be helpful in our interactions. NOT just with those who don’t know Christ as their personal Savior but to other born-again followers of God also. I am NOT just writing meaningless words however it’s something we need to be practicing on a daily basis. This is NOT just for you it’s for me too because I know without a doubt in my mind that I fall short but I MUST strive to do better
4 Ways Others Can See Jesus in You
1. By the Words, We Speak
I have always been taught this: “If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.” You and I may not be aware, but those around us are watching what we say. They hear the words that proceed from our mouths whether they be good or bad. More often than not unbelievers will judge us since we claim Jesus Christ as our Savior. If You and I are mindful of the words we use, people will notice that and possibly ask us “HOW” we are different? Words are powerful and they can be used to build up but they can also be used to tear others down. Let’s choose to use speech that speaks life and truth.
But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. James 3:8
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:29
2. By What We Do for Entertainment
- Where do you go?
- What do you watch?
- What kind of music do you listen to?
- Would you go to the same places, watch the same things or listen to the same music if Jesus were sitting next to you or find yourself being embarrassed?
Ask the Holy Spirit, to convict your heart, before you answer.
I have a saying…”What you put in, will eventually come out, whether that be good or bad.”
In other words, what You and I actually DO with our time is being seen also. You and I become who and what we surround our self with.
No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24
3. Our Interactions on Social Media:
Other people read what you post and Non-believers watch more closely than those who say they are Christians. Are your posts, comments and photos edifying, what you say you believe in? Once something goes online, it can’t be taken back so You and I must be careful that we represent our Savior in the best way we know how.
Whoever guards his mouth and tongue, keeps his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23
4. By How We Treat Others
In other words, Are we reaching out to help people in their time of need? Are we encouraging or criticizing them? Being patient and kind? What about showing genuine Love? Are we giving others the benefit of the doubt or do we believe something because someone else takes it as truth? If we hear gossip about an individual, do we distance ourselves from it or stay and listen? What does the bible say about gossip? Treat others the same way you want them to treat you and lend a helping hand when they need it.
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. Luke 6:31
My sincere hope is that people DO see Christ when they see You and me.
Can I challenge you to be the best witness you can be for Jesus Christ today? I will say it again that we may be the ONLY witness that some people will see so let’s show them a good representation.
In all honesty, if we live our lives in a manner that doesn’t reflect what we claim to be (Born again children of God) they will see no reason to give their hearts to Jesus Christ.
They’ll just say that we do NOT live any different from they do. I want to live my life as the best example I can be. In other words, I want to let them see Jesus in me. I don’t do it right more often than not, I mess up, I make mistakes, but I will do my best to be a light for others to see in this dark world!
Let them see You in me, Let them hear You when I speak, Let them feel You when I sing, Let them see You, let them see You in me.
