Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. (Mark 11:24).
Friends, have you prayed for God, to use you in a certain way, only to feel as if your prayers, are bouncing off the ceiling? I can say with complete assurance, that I have. As a matter of fact, I feel as if God is tired of me, praying the same things over and over again.
Does that mean God doesn’t hear my prayers? Absolutely NOT! God knows what we are gonna ask for, long before it enters our minds, then forms from depths of our hearts, then proceeds from our lips.
I feel our prayers are answered in three different ways
- No
- Not Now
- Yes
None of these are a right or wrong response from God. He alone knows what, who, where, why, and when, we need a specific request met. It may be a time in our lives when God is growing our dependence on him, and during those times, he has a reason for each response.
I want to share one particular prayer that God has heard from me quite often
God, will you PLEASE allow your Holy Spirit, to use me to bring someone, to come to know you, as their personal Savior?
Don’t get me wrong, it is extremely satisfying to know, that I can make a difference, in someone’s life, in ANY way, shape, or form! What I mean by that, is planting seeds of faith, by the life I live before others. If God ONLY wants to use me in that way, then so be it. But my heart has longed for more!
I know God uses some individuals to plant the seeds and has others come along, to water and grow so to speak. However, to actually walk someone through, the steps of faith and repentance in Christ, and witness the actual conversion, from beginning to end?
WHAT A JOY that would be!
I have such a burden in my heart, for the lost people, of this dark cruel world. People think they have ALL THE TIME in the world, to make it right with God before they meet their maker. Y’all, we are NOT promised our next breath, let alone tomorrow. Don’t put off what needs to be done today. Today is the day for salvation, NOT tomorrow!
I LOVE when God answers your prayers when you least expect it. What a Good Good Father he is to me! I am so undeserving, but I am also incredibly grateful, for his everlasting kindness, and unending love for me. If you think God will NEVER use YOU, in the way you have prayed for….keep fervently praying on my beloved friends!
Why do you say this Angie? My prayer was answered! Glory to God! Thank You, Jesus!
Let me share how MY GOD orchestrated this answered prayer
It was on a late Sunday evening, a little over a week ago. My husband and I were lounging around the house, resting up for the start of the next work week. My home telephone rings and when I looked over to see who was calling, I was like YES, I ALWAYS look forward to ANY conversation with my BEST FRIEND.
As soon as she spoke, I could tell she was troubled. Right away my heart was heavy. I literally felt the pain she was in Y’all. I am NOT joking. She and I are that close. She begins to tell me she’s not been able to sleep, and could NOT stop crying, and had no idea why she was feeling this.
Me being me was trying to get her to open up, about what had her so upset. I had NO CLUE at first, that she was under heavy conviction, from the Holy Spirit. When she was able to speak, her next words were, “Angie, will you just witness to me?”
I cried right then and there because I was NOT expecting those words at all. To be honest I was stunned into silence at first. I was thinking to myself, “God, I have prayed and prayed for this, and you practically laid it in my lap.”
Why can I NOT find the right words now
I was feeling so inadequate at that moment. I was thinking anyone else would be doing a better job than I was doing at that moment. After all, I have prayed and prayed for God to use me, so I should have been well prepared. I said, “Ok, I can NOT mess this up!” So I prayed and asked the Holy Spirit to guide me through it, and he NEVER disappoints.
My friend had received God, for her salvation a long time ago, and she was baptized, but she stated she knew she wasn’t living the life, as a follower of Christ should be. She wasn’t sleeping well, due to being under conviction.
I LOVE Billy Graham, and I knew he had a Sinner’s Prayer on his website, so I looked it up. I had HOLY CHILL BUMPS, the entire time then, and even now as I type. She and I went through that, and she told me she felt instant PEACE!
Loved ones, that is called receiving God’s grace and forgiveness. Dying to self and receiving his righteousness. I told her that I already considered her, more than my BEST FRIEND, she’s like a sister to me. But now I can call her my BEST FRIEND AND SISTER IN CHRIST!
BEST DECISION EVER
She told me the next day, that night was the best sleep, she’s had in FOREVER! I feel so blessed to have played a small part in that. Not from anything Angie did, because I didn’t give her peace, God did that. I was simply doing what God calls me to do…WALK…WITNESS…WORSHIP…WORK.
Friends, I want to be real with you and be as blunt as possible. I’m saying this out of nothing but LOVE for you. When you start feeling that tug, drawing yourself towards God….you will NOT find the rest you’re seeking, until you surrender your heart and soul to God!
God will NOT stop running for you, and there will be no hiding. Trust me, I’ve been there myself. Oh, the Peace you feel when you finally surrender! You will wonder WHY it took you so long to do so.
In Closing
Don’t EVER think God doesn’t hear your prayers. He knows what your hearts desires are. If you put him before anyone or anything else, you may find yourself surprised, when he answers your prayer, when you are least expecting it. God is a Good Good Father and loves rewarding his children.
This post is dedicated to “My Bestie” and she is one of the most precious people EVER to me! I can NOT thank God enough for answering my prayer!
When I write up my posts, I do research, by looking up articles and scriptures, to help me with them. I came across a very website, that lists over faith, gospel-centered blogs. If you want to read more encouragement, I added the link for you to do so. Gospel-centered blogs
