Have you accepted the FREE gift of salvation? Salvation can NOT be bought nor is it anything we can earn by our own “good works.” The gift of salvation is for those who place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
What is salvation? Salvation is the deliverance and redemption from death and separation from God by Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection.

- 2 In Closing on Thankfulness: The Free Gift of Salvation
Salvation is made possible only by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross. We needed an “atonement” a perfect sacrifice to be our mediator between God and ourselves.
This was fulfilled by the spotless lamb of God’s perfect one and only begotten son. As Christians, the gift of salvation is freeing you and I from eternal damnation and free from sin and its consequences, therefore, providing our way to Heaven for eternal glory.
But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. Romans 5:15
you are Saved by Grace Alone
It is by grace alone and faith alone that we can receive the FREE gift of salvation. God’s Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works.
Grace alone means that God loves, forgives, and saves us not because of who we are, what we do, or can EVER do, but Jesus finished work on the Roman Rugged Cross.
As born again believers, the gift of salvation is freeing you and I from eternal damnation and free from sin and its consequences
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
Good Works Alone is Not Salvation
God’s word tells you and I that we must understand the following two key points of salvation:
- It was a very costly gift
- We must accept Jesus Christ
First Point on Salvation: It Can Not Be Earned
Think of it in this manner. For example, when you want to give your loved ones a gift to show them how much you love them…How would you go about doing this?
You’d have to go to a store that sells the gift you’re wanting to purchase for them right? The better the gift you want to purchase the more expensive it becomes. Can you understand the comparison?
The gift of salvation cost you and I NOTHING, however, it cost God EVERYTHING! You and I bring NOTHING to the table to earn our own salvation.
To put it another way, it was NOT free for you and I. Jesus paid our debt in full by the blood he shed on the cross.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Second Point on Salvation: Free Gift Given to All
The FREE gift of salvation does not belong to you and I unless we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts as Lord and savior. Sadly, many of us refuse God’s gift of salvation.
Sweet friend if you have not accepted the free gift of salvation why would you want to put it off another day.
Our next breath is not promised let alone tomorrow place your hope in Christ for eternal salvation. Tomorrow may be too late! Don’t put off what needs to be done today!
Don’t let your eternal destiny be tormenting in Hell for all eternity! Your eternity is at stake so you must choose Heaven or Hell there is no other option!
And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses. Colossians 2:13
Is Belief ALL that is Required to Receive the Free Gift of Salvation?
Some people say if you and I must do something to receive God’s gift of salvation, how can it be a FREE gift?
Jesus wants us to acknowledge that it requires more from us to receive eternal life than belief or speaking words.
It’s the conviction of an individual’s heart that’s the key. Jesus warns calling on His name or recognizing Him as “Lord” is not enough.
Believing and speaking words is pointless unless it is backed up by action and obedience. Does this mean you and I must sinless to receive salvation? Absolutely not!
However, we must turn away from sin and towards Christ. To put it another way, it’s impossible to live perfectly and sin-free.
Only Jesus Christ is perfect and sinless. We can not sinless, however, we should strive to SINless!
What Does the Gift of Salvation Mean?
Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him. Hebrews 5: 8-9.
I Never Knew You
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21
Importance of Baptism for Salvation
Jesus gave another condition for God’s gift of eternal life. “He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
Water baptism by full immersion is a symbolic act representing the death and washing away of our old sinful self and the beginning of a new life of serving God and striving to avoid sin.
Through this act, we symbolically put to death and bury the old person with his or her sins and rise from that watery grave to a new life as a new person.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16
Dead to Sin, Alive to God
What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin.
Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him.
For the death, he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.
Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
For sin will have no dominion over you since you are not under law but under grace.
Slaves to Righteousness
What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.
I am speaking in human terms, because of natural limitations.
For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6: 1-23

In Closing on Thankfulness: The Free Gift of Salvation
I believe it’s important to end the “Thankfulness: The Free Gift of Salvation” by giving you the opportunity to accept the free gift that God is offering to you. It’s yours for the taking if ONLY you would accept it with a humble heart of true repentance.
Have you accepted the free gift of salvation offered by Jesus Christ? There is no special prayer you must pray or no particular place you need to be to do so.
All you must do is “confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and ask him to become Lord of your life, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved”
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
“Dear God, I realize I am a sinner and could never reach heaven by my own good deeds. Salvation is a gift that only you can give. So right now I place my faith in Jesus Christ as God’s Son who died for my sins and rose from the dead to give me eternal life. Please forgive me of my sins and help me to live for you. Thank you for accepting me and giving me eternal life.”
I believe in ONE God who is three persons in one…Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe in the deity, of Jesus Christ’s virgin birth, human form, sinless life, substitutionary death, atoning blood, bodily resurrection, and ascension to heaven.
I believe the Holy Bible is God’s revelation and instruction to follow.
I believe Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.
I believe in the resurrection, and eternal life in Heaven, for believers in heaven, and everlasting punishment, for unbelievers in hell.
I believe in God’s command, to make disciple’s of all nations, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to all.
I believe Jesus Christ will return, to establish His Kingdom on earth.
I believe the Holy Spirit, dwells in born again believers, of Jesus Christ, and is a seal and pledge, of our inheritance in Jesus Christ.
