May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (Romans 15:13).
As Christians, we cling to this promise….and we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called, according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28).
We ALL hope to see better days coming, don’t we?
To live together, in a world, where we can ALL exist, in Perfect Peace.
However, it is so difficult at times, to have that kind of hope, in today’s world, with all that surrounds us.
Surely I’m not the only one, who sees and thinks that am I?
Our country has way too much division between people.
It leads to quarreling, name-calling, fighting, protesting, and the list can go on and on.
I find that so incredibly sad.
The greatest commandment given by God states.
You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:31).
I’m going to put myself on the chopping block, and be open and honest.
I am positive what I’m about to say, will make some not happy with me, but I feel it needs to be addressed.
Social media is EVERYWHERE.
I choose to use ALL my accounts to build people up, not tear people down.
Sadly, I see others, more and more, using theirs, in a very negative way.
It breaks my heart.
There is so much bashing, negativity, perversion, and foul language, that makes its way, on my personal Facebook page.
What I’m questioning as I’m reading the status updates:
- I’m thinking to myself, REALLY!!
- What are you saying?
- What are you doing?
- What are you thinking?
- Obviously, you aren’t.
Many have young children, and teenagers as friends, that are seeing these things.
My mind cannot comprehend, why anyone can see that being appropriate.
What are these types of posts, teaching our next generation to do and become?
Everyone is entitled, to have their own opinions.
I am not saying that.
But just because someone else, doesn’t agree with you, don’t go throwing stones at them, so to speak.
I have seen more friendships disintegrate, and more back and forth, words being thrown, or rather typed, than ever before.
Its gotten so bad, that I don’t even go on my personal page, as much anymore.
I have unfollowed many, simply because I don’t want to see, that rubbish in my news feed.
Call me an old fuddy-duddy if you want to. Lol!
All joking aside, I can remember the good old days, when you were taught, NOT to speak poorly, of another person, or their beliefs.
You were raised, to show respect and kindness.
In today’s world, everything is centered around:
- ME ME ME!
- What I want!
- What I can get!
- What can YOU do for ME!
It’s to the point, you want to verbally attack anyone if they disagree with you, and how you view issues.
What happened to the golden rule, us old folks were taught, back in the day.
You may have heard it.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
I was also taught if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.
I have a very splendid idea.
- How about we use words of encouragement.
- Let’s lift one another up.
- Show others Love not Hate.
- Respect not Disrespect.
- Comfort, not Dismay.
- Inspire not Cast Down.
- Encourage not Discourage.
- Be a Friend, not a Bully.
- Lift not Push.
How do we think, we can EVER make, the world around us, a better place, if we’re constantly, looking for ways, to be argumentative all the time.
I can tell you one person, who feeds off people fussing, and not getting along…Satan.
Satan is doing his job if he keeps discord and dismay between others.
He wants you to NOT get along.
Please open your eyes, to this truth Friends.
Jesus is ALL about Love.
He is light where Satan is darkness.
Negativity, ugliness, and darkness are NOT of God.
As born again, Children of the most high God, Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you, where they may be a known, or unknown Sins, you may be holding against another, in your heart.
We must keep, in the forefront of our minds, that whether we realize it or not, people ARE watching what we say, do, and type.
Before you speak or type, let your thoughts and words, pass through three gates.
- Is it true?
- Is it necessary?
- Is it kind?
Put these into practice.
- Watch your thoughts; they become your words.
- Watch your words; they come to your action.
- Watch your actions; they become your habits.
- Watch your habits; they become your character.
- Watch your character; they become your destiny.
I am FAR from perfect, and I don’t claim that I am.
I will be the first to admit my faults to anyone.
What I am trying to get across in this post is simply this:
- We will ALL stand before God one day.
- We will ALL be held accountable for ALL we say and do.
- Let’s keep that in mind and be more positive, encouraging, and uplifting, with those we come in contact with.
I will leave you with a verse that says it much better than I EVER could.
Therefore encourage one another and build up one another. (Thessalonians 5:11).
I realize we won’t see perfection this side of eternity.
One day so very soon, we will live in unity.
What a time that will be.
I for one, LONG for that homecoming.
For now, we MUST find a way to coexist!
We MUST stop all ugliness being thrown at each other like they’re daggers!
Your Sister in Christ,
Hey Friends. Thank you for taking time out of your day, to spend a few moments in mine. As a follower of Jesus Christ, it’s important to me to share the gospel with you. I write about my ups and downs, my struggles and insecurities, but above all else, I share how God brings me through it all. Let’s continue our walk with Christ together.
