Bible Verses for Overwhelming Times
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
Turbulent Times Where God is Removed from Everything
People are too concerned with wanting to remove GOD from everything when they should be drawing near to him! Friends, my heart is so burdened and weighed down right now. As I watch and listen to the circumstances unfolding around me I can NOT understand the evil that’s taking place in my own strength. That is why you and I MUST lean on God’s strength and understanding, NOT our own! I rarely watch TV and I had no idea the Mass Shooting in Texas had even taken place on Sunday 5, 2017.
The first thought that went through my mind was, My God NOT again! These are turbulent times but these are also Overwhelming Times!
The times we’re living in now have gotten so fearful and make you not want to go anywhere doesn’t it? Come on now Y’all it’s a sad world we’re living in when you can’t go to Church and Worship your savior, without someone coming in guns blazing. What a broken, fallen, World we’re living in! Sometimes I can’t help but be homesick for Heaven.
So Many Lives Lost and Broken
The rampage in Sutherland Springs Texas on November 5, 2017, was the largest mass shooting in Texas history. There were 26 innocent people, that ranged from 18 months to 77 years old that were murdered and 20 more were injured.
Evil and Wickedness in Overwhelming Times
I’m certain when these folks left the comfort of their homes and they never dreamed they wouldn’t be returning. When I watched the news and seen the smiling faces especially on those precious children’s faces. I had tears like a river flowing down my face. My spirit was crushed and my heart ached for those people!
More lives lost and wounded in another incident as a man unleashed gunfire from a hotel room, onto an outdoor music festival in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017. The gunman sprayed bullets from the 32nd floor of the hotel as the concertgoers began to flee.
Evil and Wickedness in Turbulent Times
Again, I’m sure these people left their homes with the only thought going through their minds was enjoying an evening out listening to some of their favorite musicians perform. How would they have known they too wouldn’t make it home. 58 people murdered and more than 500 wounded.
More lives lost when a man opened fire inside Pulse nightclub in Orlando on June 12, 2016. At least 49 people were killed, and more than 50 are injured. It doesn’t matter that this Club was known for being a Gay Bar you don’t go taking other people’s lives! Again, I believe it’s fair to assume these people wanted to go dancing and never imagined they’d never see home again. It’s so heartbreaking! I do NOT agree with a Gay lifestyle but they are still LOVED by God and by ME!
God Loves Every Soul Created
It is up to the individual to accept his love in return! More lives lost as a student went on a shooting spree murdering 32 people in two locations and wounding many others on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg Virginia on April 16, 2007.
Evil and Wickedness in Turbulent Times
These young people were bettering themselves and wanting to earn degrees to better support themselves and their families. It was just another day to them when everything forever changed their lives. More lives lost as a man guns down 20 children ages 6 and 7 and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut before turning the gun on himself on December 14, 2012.
Evil and Wickedness in Turbulent Times
I can NOT fathom for the life of me why anyone would want to harm children. These precious gifts from God barely started living before it was snatched away. I can’t comprehend It! This list could go on and on but here is the straight-up truth we must reflect on…We live in a fallen world where awful incomprehensible things happen. Much too often when these tragedies occur people start shouting Where is God? Life is overwhelming enough without all the destruction and despair.
Why Did God Choose or Not Choose the following During these Overwhelming Times?
- Not intervene!
- Stops some tragedies from happening and don’t stop others!
I DO know but rest assured in the knowledge that God is there for those who are hurting! I DO know one day very soon that God will put evil in its place and it shall be no more! Let these Bible verses for overwhelming times comfort your shattered and hurting hearts Friends.

I want You to Meditate on the Following Bible Verses for Overwhelming Times
As you know life is so short and things can change in an instant. We are NOT promised our next breath let alone tomorrow.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14
My Point about Overwhelming Times:
PLEASE if you are NOT certain where you will be spending your Eternity make the choice to have your Soul right before God. You do NOT want to wait too late or YOU will spend Eternity in torment FOREVER!!
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10
In Closing on Bible Verses for Overwhelming Times
Friend. Please if you don’t Jesus Christ as your Savior of Lord what are you waiting for? You just read we’re not promised our next breath let alone tomorrow. Trust me when I say you do not want these words said to you when facing judgment from Almighty God. Today is the day of salvation.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? In thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:21-23
