Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
Have you considered “why” we are we living in such overwhelming times?
God has been removed
People are too concerned with wanting to remove GOD from everything when they should be drawing near to him! Sweet friends, my heart is so burdened and weighed down right now. As I watch and listen to the circumstances unfolding around me.
In my human mind I can not understand the evil that’s taking place in my own strength. That is why you and I must lean on God’s strength and understanding, not our own! I rarely watch TV and I had no idea the Mass Shooting in Texas had even taken place on Sunday 5, 2017.
The first thought that went through my mind was My God not again! The times we’re living in now have gotten so fearful and make you not want to go anywhere doesn’t it?
You know it’s a sad world we’re living in when you can’t go to Church and Worship your savior without someone coming in guns blazing. What a broken fallen world we’re living in! Sometimes I can’t help but be homesick for Heaven.
Overwhelming times and loss of life
The rampage in Sutherland Springs Texas on November 5, 2017, was the largest mass shooting in Texas history. There were 26 innocent people, that ranged from 18 months to 77 years old that were murdered and 20 more were injured.
Evil and Wickedness in Overwhelming Times
I’m certain when these folks left the comfort of their homes and they never dreamed they wouldn’t be returning. When I watched the news and seen the smiling faces especially on those precious children’s faces.
I had tears like a river flowing down my face. My spirit was crushed and my heart ached for those people!
More lives lost and wounded in another incident as a man unleashed gunfire from a hotel room, onto an outdoor music festival in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017.
The gunman sprayed bullets from the 32nd floor of the hotel as the concertgoers began to flee.
Again, I’m sure these people left their homes with the only thought going through their minds was enjoying an evening out listening to some of their favorite musicians perform.
How would they have known they too wouldn’t make it home. 58 people murdered and more than 500 wounded.
Evil and Wickedness in Overwhelming Times
More lives lost when a man opened fire inside Pulse nightclub in Orlando on June 12, 2016. At least 49 people were killed, and more than 50 are injured.
It doesn’t matter that this Club was known for being a Gay Bar you don’t go taking other people’s lives!
Again, I believe it’s fair to assume these people wanted to go dancing and never imagined they’d never see home again. It’s so heartbreaking!
I do NOT agree with a Gay lifestyle but they are still LOVED by God and by ME!
God Loves Every Soul Created
It is up to the individual to accept his love in return! More lives lost as a student went on a shooting spree murdering 32 people in two locations and wounding many others on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg Virginia on April 16, 2007.
These young people were bettering themselves and wanting to earn degrees to better support themselves and their families. It was just another day to them when everything forever changed their lives.
More lives lost as a man guns down 20 children ages 6 and 7 and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut before turning the gun on himself on December 14, 2012.
These our Turbulent Times we’re Living in Sweet Friend.
I can NOT fathom for the life of me why anyone would want to harm children. These precious gifts from God barely started living before it was snatched away. I can’t comprehend It!
This list could go on and on but here is the straight-up truth we must reflect on…
We live in a fallen world where awful incomprehensible things happen. Much too often when these tragedies occur people start shouting Where is God?
Life is overwhelming enough without all the destruction and despair.
Non-Christians ask tough questions in Overwhelming times
- Why did God not Intervene?
- Why does God allow tragedies?
- Why doesn’t God stop them from happening?
I DO know but rest assured in the knowledge that God is there for those who are hurting! I DO know one day very soon that God will put evil in its place and it shall be no more!
Let these Bible verses for overwhelming times comfort your shattered and hurting hearts Friends.

For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13
FOUR KEY FACTORS THAT ARE IN OUR WORLD TODAY
- Good and Evil!
- Light and Darkness!
- God pursues you for good.
- Satan pursues you for evil
Be sober, be vigilant, because of your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8
MEDITATE ON THE FOLLOWING BIBLE VERSES FOR OVERWHELMING TIMES
As you know life is so short and things can change in an instant. We are NOT promised our next breath let alone tomorrow.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14
Overwhelming times should force us to BE PREPARED for eternity
PLEASE if you are NOT certain where you will be spending your Eternity make the choice to have your Soul right before God.
You do NOT want to wait too late or YOU will spend Eternity in torment FOREVER!!
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10
In Closing on Bible Verses for Overwhelming Times
Sweet friend, if you don’t Jesus Christ as your Savior of Lord what are you waiting for? There is eternal hope in Christ! You just read we’re not promised our next breath let alone tomorrow. Where will spend eternity?
Trust me when I say you do not want these words said to you when facing judgment from Almighty God. Accept the free gift of salvation that God offers willingly to you.
I NEVER KNEW YOU
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21
On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? Matthew 7:22
And then will I declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness. Matthew 7:23
