I get asked all the time the following question. What is the meaning behind the name of Resounding His Love? How did I decide on my website name? Can a fluid backup cause this?
Believe it or not, I used to have “perfect hearing” until “ONE DAY” in particular…I didn’t. Keep reading and you’ll learn about an “unexplained incident”…from the DR’S point of view anyway.
In all honesty, in my heart, I believe God has used this incident to show His glory. I am learning to let go and let God work in my life and viewing my “hearing loss” from an eternal perspective.
That said, it has been a long hard process!
WHAT IS BEHIND THE NAME OF RESOUNDING HIS LOVE?
First, Resounding His Love Blog is about finding Hope and Healing in numerous areas. This can not be a truer statement for me personally. Let me Explain
I have always loved music and even led the choir back home in Kentucky where I’m from originally. For me, my “identity” was centered around being a singer and I thought that was the only way God could “use me” to reach others.
Church members would tell me often how much a particular song spoke them personally and I found that so rewarding! God had gifted me with wring several songs that I wrote and sang in church too.
And then…I had major hearing loss in an instant!
WHAT CAUSED SUCH DRASTIC HEARING LOSS?
This was my reality due to a massive fluid backup in my inner ear. Unknown to me at the time…this was just the beginning of my journey.
HOW DID MY HEARING LOSS START?
Back in 2010, I had a tender red bump that appeared behind my ear. I thought nothing of it and went to bed. As with every morning when my alarm goes off I get up to turn it off.
However, on this particular morning, I couldn’t raise my head off the pillow. I started crying and told my husband my head hurts so bad! When Mike turned the light on he was in complete shock.
He said, “Hunny, you’re not going to work today, because we’re taking you straight to the Dr right now!
CAN HEARING LOSS CAUSE PAIN?
In all seriousness, Dumbo had nothing on me! The whole left side of my face, ear, and neck were super huge, fire red, and hot to the touch!
That’s what started my hearing loss. I’ve seen many ENT Specialists and to this day they have no clue what caused this to happen.
WHAT ARE SIDE EFFECTS OF MY HEARING LOSS?
I now have only 15% left in my left ear and I have 30% gone from my right. Due to living with autoimmune disorders, I have major allergies.
ARE HEARING AIDS A POSSIBILITY FOR HEARING LOSS?
In all honesty, I’d love to be able to wear hearing aids. However, the audiologists have tried three different kinds with the same results.
Every time they place them in my inner ear inflates and becomes infected. So they’ve come to the conclusion whatever the molding is made of I’m allergic to. Go figure right?
REACH OTHERS FOR CHRIST
Due to my hearing loss and losing my ability to sing I thought I was no longer able to reach people with the Love of Christ. I prayed for God to show me how he wanted to use me.

And God did just that by two individuals on the same day. I finally “got it!” God wanted me to share his grace, mercy, and love through blogging.
ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE ON HEARING LOSS
However, I was still struggling with a name. God had a plan for that as well. See friend, what I considered a ‘loss’ from an eternal perspective it’s “gain!”
I hadn’t been viewing my hearing loss from an eternal perspective at all.
That being said, God and his tender loving-kindness continue to teach me throughout my hearing loss who and where my “identity” comes from…HIM!
WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF RESOUNDING?
Definition: A sound loud enough to reverberate.
Now you will understand the “WHY” behind the name…I may not “hear” well but you will “hear” me Resounding the name of Christ! This is done by proclaiming the gospel via the internet.
IN CLOSING ON BEHIND THE NAME
The one thing on “Behind the Name” I want you to keep at the forefront of your mind is to never allow a disability (IN MY CASE…HEARING LOSS) to stop you from what God is calling you to do.
The only thing You and I must do is get “self” out of the way and “LET GO & LET GOD” do the work in our lives that ONLY he can do.
